Boxing Day Wingerworth Wobblers 2012

Post Christmas calories were used on our annual run/walk – then rapidly replaced with half time refreshments and mince pies. Lots of passing walkers benefitted from our hospitality and my determination not to take the Quality Street tin back home!! The puppies behaved (on the whole) and enjoyed their wander in the woods.

Dovedale Dash 2012

Well, it certainly does not get any warmer! The river is still deep and the mountain is still high (as in the song). We braved the elements – and that was just the car park!! A great race saw us overtaken by the Village People and dunk several youngsters on the river crossing as we used them like appropriately sized stepping stones.

Again, the bottle of bubbly and chocolate muffins were calling our names as we headed back up the hill. Nobody mentioned that the finish had finally been organised and the queues diminished by a funnel system. This now means you have to run up the entire hill even if you have got wise to this over the years and hung back in the field to take respite in the very British line that occurs as runners wait (in a most British fashion) to finish. Now there is no option but to run up the entire hill  I’ll put a bit more effort in next year to finish in a good position – yeah right!!

Endurer Dash October 2012

A crack team made up of father and son,  Sam and Josh Kimmins along with Lucy and Linzi completed the muddy Endurer dash. It was less of a dash and more of a struggle over numerous obstacles, slides and water features. Sam added to the challenge by forgetting his trainers and running it in shoes – there is always one!

We stuck together with numerous comedy muddy pat on the backs and were further spurred on in the knowledge that there was a cold bottle of champagne waiting for us in the car park – Sam didn’t forget that!!

Hello world!
